CONGRATULATIONS TO THE JCHS BASS ANGLERS ON WINNING THE REGION 4 KHSAA BASS FISHING TITLE THIS PAST WEEKEND AT CAVE RUN LAKE IN MOREHEAD, KY.
On Saturday 4/5/14, the Johnson Central Bass Anglers went to defend their 2013 Regional Title in the KHSAA Region 4 High School Bass Fishing Tournament. Johnson Central entered 6 teams (Boats) in the 22 team field from 6 different high schools across a 25 county area. Conditions for this tournament were extremely tough due to storms from Thursday and Friday. Water levels were raised, water temperatures dropped, and very windy conditions totally changed fishing strategies.
Johnson Central Bass Anglers were able to prevail and brought home not only the Regional Championship, but the Regional Runner-up Trophy as well.
Individual results were as follows:
1st place - Trent Arrowood and Conner Ratliff with 1 fish weighing 3lbs. 13oz.
2nd place- Truman Salyer and Cody Harless with 1 fish weighing 2lbs.13oz.
3rd place - Patrick Rice and Chase Shepard with 1 fish weighing 1lb. 5oz.
Biggest Fish Award - Trent Arrowood with the 3lbs. 13oz. fish.
Johnson Central took the top three places in this tournament and all three teams have qualified and will compete in the 2014 KHSAA High School Bass Fishing State Tournament to be held at Kentucky Lake on 4/25 and 4/26/14.
